![]() ![]() I can honestly say this band is such a big part of who I am, it helped me get through the worst parts of my life and I don't know if I would be here with out them. The raw emotion that was put in to this band was everything I was feeling. My best friend at the time Bobbie showed me Motion City Soundtrack and I feel in love. I didn't know how to deal With everything that was going on in my life so I turned to music. For any one who knew me back then knows I was a very emo (still kinda am) ball of teenage hate. The first time I saw them I was in 8th grade trying to figure out who I was and how to handle the world. My second favorite band Motion City Soundtrack is retiring after this tour and I was lucky enough to see them one last time. Shoot out to Johnathan Duong for coming with me and being a part of this!! #farewelltour #motioncitysoundtrack #committhistomemory #evenifitkillsme Phoenix, AZ was one of the most bitter sweet nights of my life. You will for ever be a huge part of who I am and I hope one day you will do a reunion tour, then maybe I can relive this amazing night. You have thought me that I can and will make it through anything with just a little help and I have to try my hardest even if it kills me. I am so glad that I was able to see you for the last time is such an intimate setting. ![]() THANK YOU!! you have giving your heart and soul to us, your fans and we love you endlessly in return. From the very excellent band Motion City Soundtrack, I give you Crooked Ways.Tonight was one of the most bitter sweet nights of my life. I hope you love it as much as I do, though I’m not sure that’s possible. Skip to the happy ending: with an assist from Alex the Amazing, I was able to get in touch with the band and to my great joy, they were willing to help out. It wouldn’t be the Midnight Sun playlist without THE song. There was pruning to be done, adding, subtracting, searching for songs that captured what I needed… but then this big problem. ![]() ![]() When I realized that Midnight Sun was actually going to happen, that I was going to be able to finish it, my mind quickly turned to the playlist. I’ve been listening to this song for a decade, all by myself. It only existed on an old submissions CD and my personal Midnight Sun playlist. So it just sat there, being perfect for a story that was only in my head. Perhaps because it was such a specifically Edwardian song, it never found a place in a Bella-centric movie. The joy of first love plus the sure knowledge of impending tragedy. There was this one song by one of my favorite bands-it was such an amazing encapsulation of Edward’s mindset throughout Twilight, the despair and the hope and the despair again. Often, things I loved were released separately later. The director couldn’t choose every single song they loved. The one and only Alex Patsavas was our music supervisor (look her up, odds are that if you’ve ever thought, “Wow, that series has excellent music,” she was probably the reason why), and she showered us with mind-blowing options, some written specifically for the movies, some not. It was a smorgasbord of audial awesomeness. You know we had some really incredible music on all the soundtracks, but you should have seen everything we had to choose from. Many years ago, when I was working on the Twilight movies, one of the really fun parts of producing was listening to songs that had been submitted for consideration for the soundtrack. It doesn’t fit into a specific place in the story, it’s the overarching theme song for the whole novel. One last song from the playlist revealed today – and this is the big one. One more night before you hold Edward in your hands in all his twisted glory! ![]()
